BlueGreen Geophysics’ three Principals each have a Ph.D. in electromagnetic geophysics, and between them have over 50 years of combined EM geophysical experience. This provides your company with the experience and knowledge to solve even the most complicated subsurface characterization and imaging problems.
David Alumbaugh – Ph.D. University California, Berkeley, 1993 : Dr. Alumbaugh has over 25 years post graduate experience in the use of electromagnetic geophysical techniques for resource exploration, subsurface characterization, and monitoring of subsurface processes. His early work focused on the implementation and development of modeling and inversion algorithms for the 2D and 3D imaging of electromagnetic data as well as better understanding the physics of the methods, and more recently he has focused on developing new acquisition methodologies for better subsurface imaging and characterization, as well as inversion and interpretation of large scale electromagnetic data sets. Dr. Alumbaugh has worked in within the oil and gas industry, academia, and government research labs, and has coauthored over 40 peer reviewed papers, 7 chapters in books, and 11 US patents.
Kerry Key- Ph.D. Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego, 2003 : Dr. Key is currently a tenured Associate Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences in the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University. He has authored over 40 peer reviewed papers on electromagnetic geophysics topics ranging from the development of accurate and versatile parallel computational modeling codes to the use of electromagnetic data for mapping offshore oil and gas reservoirs, 1D,2D,3D, regularized inversion, Bayesian uncertainty, applications to exploring oil and gas reservoirs on the continental shelves to mapping fluids and magma at mid-ocean ridges and subduction zones.
David Myer – Ph.D. Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California San Diego,2012 : The focus of Dr. Myer’s expertise is in the electromagnetic data pipeline including efficient processing techniques, the proper determination of uncertainties, and the effects of uncertainties on interpretation. He has processed, inverted, and interpreted the data from several thousand electromagnetic receivers. He consults for and has trained some of the major players in the marine EM marketplace as well as working directly with major oil companies. He is the co-author on 12 papers. Prior to becoming a scientist, Dr Myer spent 22 years developing software in subjects including encryption, hardware control, and financial forecasting. Additionally, he has some minor experience in clandestine work behind the former Iron Curtain.
